Even if it’s just to get some long overdue wiring work done...

The black license plates add more horsepower :)

Kinja'd!!!

Also I don’t know if you know, but in VA antique cars aren’t required to have a front plate if there’s no where to mount it.

Hehe, I thought the yellow clashed nicely with the factory blue :) Good to know! I thought I was just being a rebel by refusing to put one up front... it needs all the airflow it can get for the ancient radiator and fan!

Naw, found a local shop that actually does real electrical work, like troubleshooting systems and wiring up ignition cylinders. I got a D in Intro to Electrical Engineering so yah... better to leave it to someone who knows wiring diagrams.

Felt a lot like seeing a sold car towed away though!

BTW, I would not be sad if your Alfa stayed with the Mad-max finish forever, makes a surprisingly awesome rat-rod as-is.

Welcome to the club – just had the same happen last week:

Kinja'd!!!

The electrics were all totally overhauled last year, which took the engine from having a mind of its own, to having consistent, repeatable problems lol

The initial plan is to clean the entire fuel system, rebuild the carb, and install some new parts (fuel pump & spark plugs, as well as a new water pump while it’s there). We’ll then see if anything else needs to be done to make it reliable, and ultimately drive it home from the shop, an hour away from my house!

I’ll bet it was tough to find a shop that knows their way around those!

Ugh, I went through that last year. 17 yo pulled right in front of me from the opposite side of the intersection while I had a green, I tried to swerve around to the right of her hoping she’d slam on her brakes but she kept her foot to the floor. Would have been paid off in less than a year... insurance company totaled it out.

I got lucky...I stumbled onto an Italian car show before I imported it, and the owner of a 308 told me “my mechanic is here today too, you should meet him.”
